# Magnetized Lights The Magnetic Lamp is a Multifunctional Convenience By Matt Ho | Published 2011-02-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-lamp References: [dailytonic](http://www.dailytonic.com/magnetic-lamp-by-serener-org-for-functionals-nl/) & [serener.org](http://www.serener.org/en/products/lamp1a/) While it may be a prototype, the Magnetic Lamp is still predicted to be perfect for everyday use around the house. Designed by designer duo Jan Willem Hofma and Christoph Seyferth, aka Serener.org, the lamp's [magnetized base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nekospace-orchard) allows it to be attached to any iron object. This means that it will stay secure if some drunk at a house party tries to knock it down. There's also a steel disc if you want it as a [standing lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light) and a [flexible neck](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/check-mate-2) for light adjustments. Functional with a stylish curve, the Magnetic Lamp should be a hit. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Magnetized Lighting:** Opportunity for innovation in designing lighting fixtures with magnetized bases for easy attachment to any iron object. - **Multi-functional Lamps:** Disruptive potential in creating lamps with versatile features such as detachable steel discs, adjustable necks, and various lighting modes. - **Secure Lighting Solutions:** Opportunity for developing lighting products with secure attachment mechanisms, ensuring stability even in high-impact situations. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Innovative lighting solutions can enhance the aesthetics and functionality of interior spaces, providing unique design options for designers and architects. - **Event Planning:** Multi-functional and secure lighting options can cater to the needs of event planners, offering versatile and resilient lighting solutions for different venues and occasions. - **Home Improvement:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the lighting industry to offer consumers convenient, stylish, and customizable lighting solutions for their homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Magnetic Document-Holding Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holder-desk-lamp.md) - [Artistic Magnetic Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scacco-matto-lamp.md) - [Floating Magnetic Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-mnuca-floating-lamp.md) - [Ultra-Flexible Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anywhereuse-lamp.md) - [Magnetic Charging Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-on-charger.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Magnetic Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbe.md) - [Storage-Friendly Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storage-lamp.md) - [Removable Illuminator Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frandsen-grasp-lamps.md) - [Interactive Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-lamp.md)
