Gone would be the days of a pencil with no paper, or a paper with no pencil, for this [clever writing utensil](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zenith7-desk-pen) is designed to keep your pad in place. Taking the form of a sleek suctioning implement, the marker's lid broadens to a [magnetized base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shearing-magnetic-absorption) which can be fixed to a fridge, a whiteboard, a filing cabinet and more. These are some of the most convenient locations for scribbling quick notes. The strong fastener of the Magnet-Pen by Yoshihiro Mikami allows you to slide [a few lined leaves underneath](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/m-note) so that whenever and wherever there is something to jot, there will be a pen and paper handy. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.4/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Magnetic Writing Tools:** The Magnet-Pen by Yoshihiro Mikami introduces the use of magnets in writing utensils, offering a convenient and secure way to keep your writing surface in place. - **Portable Writing Devices:** The sleek design of the Magnet-Pen makes it easy to carry and use in various locations, enabling users to have a pen and paper handy wherever they go. - **Functional Office Supplies:** The Magnet-Pen combines the functionality of a writing utensil with a fastening mechanism, providing a versatile tool for office and home use. ### Where This Applies - **Stationery:** The Magnet-Pen presents opportunities for stationery manufacturers to innovate and create writing tools that incorporate magnets for added functionality. - **Office Supplies:** The use of magnetized base in writing instruments can disrupt the traditional office supplies market, offering a unique selling point for manufacturers. - **Promotional Products:** The Magnet-Pen's practicality and novelty make it an ideal promotional item for businesses to showcase their brand while providing a useful tool to customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Floating Futuristic Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitating-pen.md) - [Mindful Writing Ritual Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qui-magnetic-pencil-system.md) - [Breakable Magnetic Fidget Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mezmopen.md) - [Suspended Writing Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoverpen.md) - [Multifunctional One-Piece Stationary](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mover-erase-unisize.md) - [Clipping Pen Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clippen.md) - [Magnetic Portable Laptop Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnito-mouse.md) - [Space-Inspired Hovering Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitating-pen-30.md) - [Magnetic Document-Holding Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holder-desk-lamp.md)
