# Ski Lift Safety Devices The Magnestick System Keeps Children Safe and Secure By Meghan Young | Published 2010-11-02 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnestick-system References: [ohgizmo](http://www.ohgizmo.com/2010/11/01/magnestick-system-keeps-kids-safe-and-secure-on-ski-lifts/) & [magnestick.net](http://www.magnestick.net/securite-telesiege/en/1/home.html) The Magnestick system has been created as an extra safety measure for young ones while on ski lifts, keeping them safe and secure on the ride up. The Magnestick system is comprised of wearable vests and and electromagnetic plates on the lifts. These magnetized items are activated when a child sits on the ski lift with the vest on, ensuring the child is safely secured. I can only hope that ski resorts actually implement the Magnestick system. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Wearable Safety Devices:** Opportunity for creating innovative safety solutions that can be worn by individuals in various industries. - **Electromagnetic Technology:** Emerging trend in incorporating electromagnetic technology into various systems for enhanced safety and security. - **Child Safety Innovations:** Growing demand for innovative solutions that prioritize the safety and well-being of children in different environments. ### Who This Affects Most - **Outdoor Recreation:** Opportunity to introduce technological advancements in safety devices within the outdoor recreation industry, such as ski resorts. - **Amusement Parks:** Potential for implementing safety innovations, like the Magnestick system, in amusement parks to enhance the safety of young children on rides. - **Public Transportation:** Opportunity to integrate wearable safety devices and electromagnetic technology in public transportation systems to ensure passenger safety and security. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Backpack-Adhering Skateboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-skateboard.md) - [Magnetic Hand-Holding Socks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handholding-socks.md) - [Motorized Skier Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eskimo.md) - [Magnetic DSLR Camera Carriers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swiftlock-camera-carrying-system.md) - [Winter Sport Survivalist Vests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/db-snow-pro-vest.md) - [Off-Course Skier Support Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skiavec.md) - [Portable Skiing Rope Tows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rope-tow.md) - [Wearable Magnetic Tool Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-tool-holder.md) - [Magnetic Portable Laptop Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnito-mouse.md)
