# Magnetic Kitchen Coverings The Magic Wall Creates Some Attractive Storage Space By Wes Walcott | Published 2012-10-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-wall References: [beautifulkitchensblog](http://beautifulkitchensblog.co.uk/2012/09/29/the-main-attraction/) & [magicwall.at](http://magicwall.at/magic_wall/english_Magic_Wall.html) Created by Vienna-based designer Felix Muhrhofer, the [Magic Wall](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-grill) panel is designed to provide people with a little extra [storage space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-storage). Muhrhofer came up with the idea for the Magic Wall by accident when he realized that the magnets he placed under the surface of his terrazzo tables to identify his brand were causing teaspoons to "magically" stick to it. But, in order to properly adapt the idea to work on a vertical plane, Muhrhofer had to find the perfect balance between magnetism and gravity. The Magic Wall panels are available in a wide range of sizes and styles including faux wood and faux stone to match your kitchen decor. If your cupboard space is limited, they are a great place to put things like [cookware, baking sheets, utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eati-mag) or pretty much anything else that's made of metal. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 94% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Magnetic Storage Solutions:** The use of magnets as a storage solution provides an innovative and convenient way to maximize space in various areas. - **Vertical Magnetic Surfaces:** Applying magnets to vertical surfaces opens up new possibilities for organizing and storing items. - **Customizable Magnetic Panels:** Customizable magnetic panels offer a versatile solution for adding storage to different environments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Organization:** The home organization industry can explore the use of magnetic storage solutions to create more efficient and functional spaces. - **Kitchen Accessories:** The kitchen accessories industry can incorporate vertical magnetic surfaces to provide additional storage options for homeowners. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can utilize customizable magnetic panels to offer innovative and stylish storage solutions for residential and commercial spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Magnetic Wall Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-organizer-concept.md) - [Vertical Honeycomb Storage Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-art-storage-system.md) - [Stackable Magnetic Dinnerwares](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/full-windsor-magware-magnetic-bowls-and-plates.md) - [Vibrant Custom Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cliik.md) - [Wall-Mounted Modular Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallwerx.md) - [Building Block Wall Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-organizer-and-messfree-planter.md) - [Magnetic Wall Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moment-wall-mount.md) - [Magnetic Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tavar.md) - [Eight-in-One Kitchen Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchyhub.md)
