Situated in the Spanish capital of Madrid, this micro apartment features a pocketed design in which a number of hidden spaces and storage niches can be used to help save space, while giving the dwelling an element of fun and surprise. An elevated bedroom creates for low-hanging storage space, while the main area of the home also features a hidden laundry room as well as an entrance hall decked out with massive mirrored cupboards to enhance the perception of space. Designed for efficient storage, eye-pleasing design and utility, this micro apartment proves that a limited amount of space doesn't have to be mutually exclusive to the enjoyment of a modern and enviable urban dwelling. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Space-saving Micro Apartments:** Space-saving design solutions are revolutionizing urban architecture and real estate. - **Pocketed Spaces and Hidden Niches:** The use of hidden spaces and storage niches is becoming increasingly popular in modern architectural design. - **Elevated Bedrooms:** Elevating the bedroom can increase storage space in micro apartments and small dwellings. ### Who This Affects Most - **Real Estate:** Real estate developers can leverage space-saving design solutions to create smaller, more affordable housing options for urban dwellers. - **Architecture:** Architectural firms can experiment with hidden spaces and storage niches to create unique and efficient designs for micro apartments and small dwellings. - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can create innovative storage solutions that complement the space-saving design trend in micro apartments and small dwellings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Thoughtful Micro Studio Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-studio-apartment.md) - [Smartly Designed Compact Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-apartments2.md) - [Cleverly Designed Micro Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabanon.md) - [Reimagined Minimal Parisian Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-cocoon.md) - [Japanese Inn-Inspired Micro Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-tarta-piccola.md) - [Reinvented Compact Living](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/affordable-housing-prototype.md) - [Box-Like Innovative Apartment Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/innovative-apartment-design.md) - [Apartment-Inspired Drawer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apt-drawers.md) - [Remodelled Denim-Detailed Modern Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microloft.md)
