Of course, there will be obvious differences in appearance between two species, but each dog in the series does well to resemble some essential quality of the character it corresponds to. Don Draper's canine equivalent is a doberman -- focused and en pointe. Joan Harris is represented by a German Shepherd -- alert and aware. Some of Burton's choices may seem a little off at first, but give it a few seconds and the similarities reveal themselves.
