It is nestled in the lush forest in Hidalgo, Mexico, and measures 2,200 square feet. The location has been selected for its thermal properties as it is comfortable in the mountain temperatures and the bricks are complete in tones that vary from grey to black. The team at Domestico Estudio speaks to Dezeen, stating "It is located in the foothills of the mountains that surround Huasca de Ocampo, in the state of Hidalgo and one of the primary requirements of the project contemplated the conservation of most of the pre-existing forest of the site, thus conditioning the location of the house in the freest space and with the least environmental impact. The required spaces were ordered based on the appropriate orientation according to the footprint defined mainly by the largest trees.” Image Credit: Zaickz Moz ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 26% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Sustainable Residential Architecture:** The Madí House emphasizes minimal environmental impact and sustainable design choices amid a forest setting. - **Thermal-optimized Homes:** Homes utilizing materials with superior thermal properties, like the grey brick cladding of the Madí House, are gaining traction. - **Context-sensitive Designs:** Design strategies that integrate residential architecture with natural landscapes, such as Domestico Estudio's approach, are becoming more prevalent. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Architectural firms are increasingly focused on creating residential designs that harmonize with natural landscapes and minimize ecological footprints. - **Sustainable Building Materials:** The demand for building materials that offer both aesthetic appeal and thermal efficiency is on an upward trend. - **Green Construction:** Construction companies are innovating with green building practices that prioritize environmental sustainability and integration with natural habitats. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tonal Brick-Designed Housing Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-de-los-reyes.md) - [Interior Courtyard Mexican Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-ll.md) - [Minimal White Brick Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-house.md) - [Personality-Reflecting Brick Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-cantellano.md) - [Dynamic Volume Hillside Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-shi.md) - [Light-CelebratingTwo-Storey Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-tres-rboles.md) - [stunning brutalist grottos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brutalist-grotto.md) - [A-Frame Forest Tranquil Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prez-palacios-arquitectos-asociados.md) - [Courtyard Brick Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-threshold-house.md)
