# Comically Outdated iPad Disguises This Lego iPad Case Looks Like a Classic Macintosh Computer By Lacey-Jane Walsh | Published 2013-12-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-computer References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/full-circle-lego-1984-classic-macintosh-built-ipad/) & [jason-kinsella](http://www.jason-kinsella.com/) Advertising gurus Jason Kinsella and Charlotte Bakken created this LEGO [iPad](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pad-quill) case, which looks just like a 1984 [Macintosh](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-computer-concept) computer. This hilariously outdated iPad case is like a homage to [Apple](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-50th-anniversary-iphone-17-pro) devices. It cleverly wraps one of the latest high-tech Apple devices in an old Apple design. This building block creation will transport viewers back to the early 90's. The Classic Macintosh computer looks like an ancient design when compared with more modern devices. This LEGO computer reminds consumers of how far Apple has come in terms of creating functional, sleek gadgets. This LEGO Macintosh case cleverly disguises the iPad as an older piece of Apple technology in a way that will make computer addicts smile. While it's nice to see these classic models rebuilt from LEGO, I think it's safe to say that most people prefer modern their gadgets. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Retro Ipad Cases:** Creating unique and nostalgic cases for modern gadgets can be a popular trend - **Nostalgic Tech Accessories:** Reviving outdated tech designs for modern accessories can be a trend that appeals to a consumer's love for nostalgia - **Creative Gadget Disguises:** Innovative disguises for modern gadgets using classic designs can be a trend that entertains and delights consumers ### Sectors Adopting This - **Tech Accessories:** Tech accessory companies can create a line of products that appeal to nostalgic consumers by offering retro covers and cases for modern devices - **Toy Building Sets:** Building set companies can partner with tech companies to create unique and creative gadget disguises for consumers who enjoy putting things together and showing them off - **Advertising and Marketing:** Advertising and marketing firms can create campaigns that showcase the fun and nostalgia of modern gadgets disguised as classic technology to entertain and engage consumers ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nostalgic Desktop Computer Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-computer-concept.md) - [Retro Iphone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-50th-anniversary-iphone-17-pro.md) - [Retro-Inspired Toy Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-atari-2600.md) - [Brick Toy Revivals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-boy-set.md) - [Retro Computer-Inspired Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/classic-c1.md) - [Smartwatch-Turned Nostalgic Handheld](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tinypod.md) - [Nostalgic Watch-Fitting Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tinypod-1.md) - [Nostalgic Arcade Building Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-arcade-machine-set.md) - [Retro-Styled Pocket Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-pocket.md)
