The computer maintains a somewhat chunky aesthetic that calls to mind the original system, but boasts a more expansive display along with must-have features like the [Apple](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-pocket) [M2](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mac-nano) chip for speedy computing. The computer brings back the brand's signature logo in the bottom left-hand corner and would no doubt be welcomed by consumers with a sense of nostalgia. The Macintosh computer concept was explained by Zelbo who said, "While I was not born in time for the launch of the Macintosh, I can appreciate how influential it was. I wanted to see what the Macintosh would look like today by blending the nostalgic design with Apple’s current design trends. While it started out as a play on Apple’s recycling of past designs, I truly love the result.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 11% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/computers) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Nostalgia-inspired Tech:** Opportunity for companies to create modern versions of classic gadgets with an updated design and relevant features. - **Sustainable Design:** Companies can take inspiration from past designs to create products that incorporate eco-friendly and sustainable materials. - **Retro Gaming:** There is an opportunity for companies to bring back classic games or create new games that have a retro feel and aesthetic. ### Who This Affects Most - **Consumer Electronics:** Companies in the consumer electronics industry can create nostalgic products that appeal to a new generation of consumers. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** There is an opportunity for companies in the furniture and home decor industry to create furniture inspired by classic designs that incorporates modern materials and features. - **Gaming:** Gaming companies can create retro-inspired games that appeal to the nostalgia factor and incorporate modern gameplay elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro-Styled Pocket Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-pocket.md) - [Retro-Style Mini Gamer PCs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ayaneo-retro-mini-pc-am01-1.md) - [Compact Keyboard-Style Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mac-nano.md) - [90s-Era Computer Smartwatches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-watch-g3.md) - [Retrofuturism Laptop Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-laptop-concept.md) - [Repurposed Vintage Apple Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repurposed-vintage-apple-computers.md) - [Projection-Style Computer Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macbook-go.md) - [Nostalgic 90s Keyboard Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/class-1800-mechanical-keyboard.md) - [Miniature Multifunctional Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raycue-128k.md)
