# Faux Blood-Splattered China Macabre Coffee With The Antonio Murado Salome Set By Cowbag | Published 2008-12-17 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macabre-christmas-china-bloody-dining References: [ilovebadthings](http://www.ilovebadthings.com/2008/12/cafe-en-sang.html) "*How much do I love thee, let me count the ways...*" I find this kick arse blood set so brilliant, it set me off with a Shakespearean poetry vibe. This is an awesome Antonio Murado Salome coffee set made in Spain, exclusively for the New Museum. It is so brilliantly messed up, I am desperate to eat my Christmas dinner off of it, but it costs $1,500. If you want to get all arty about this, then… "The crimson handprints and smears are an almost Baroque reflection on the act of consuming a meal," according to ILoveBadThings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Macabre Dining:** Opportunity for unconventional dining experiences and products. - **Art-inspired Housewares:** Innovation opportunity to create unique and artistic home goods. - **Faux Gore Aesthetic:** Creating aesthetic products with a horror-inspired design without gore. ### Where This Applies - **Home Furnishings:** Innovative designers can create unique and art-inspired ceramics and housewares for a new customer base. - **Fine Arts:** Artists can experiment with creating unconventional and macabre dining experiences that synchronize traditional art and cuisine. - **Fashion:** Innovative designers can create clothing and accessories that express a horror-inspired design without incorporating gore. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sin-Inspired Artful Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sinful-feast.md) - [Artsy Surrealist Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gohar-world.md) - [Luxurious Dining Party Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dining-party-set.md) - [Surrealist-Inspired Tea Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-for-two-collection.md) - [Porcelain Dinnerware Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monte-porcelain.md) - [Porcelain-Evoked Cafe Aesthetics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cafe-ginori.md) - [Luxurious Patterned Ceramic Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patterned-ceramic-plates.md) - [Chinese Restaurant-Inspired Tablewares](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freshservice-fresh-drink-service.md) - [Artist-Designed Collectible Dining Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/killer-napkins.md)
