Due to his unique inspiration, Ma Yansong's creations have a futuristic look to them that's nothing short of artistic -- with [fluid shapes, chromatic finishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/draga-aurel1), and minimalist color palettes comprising the collection. Some of the pieces that are included are a [curvaceous lounge chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polarisgo-chair) that has a sleek black cushion on top of its icy support system, a gold coffee table that looks like it's melting from beneath, and a whimsical candle holder that features differently sized prongs in an abstract fashion. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Futuristic Furniture Design:** Designing furniture with fluid shapes, chromatic finishes, and minimalist color palettes that evoke a futuristic aesthetic. - **Innovative Material Usage:** Utilizing unique materials and textures to create visually striking furniture pieces. - **Artistic Inspirations:** Drawing inspiration from abstract and whimsical sources to create furniture that is both functional and visually captivating. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Furniture:** Opportunity for home furniture manufacturers to explore futuristic design concepts to attract customers looking for unique and artistic pieces. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate futuristic furniture designs into their clients' spaces, creating visually stunning and unique living environments. - **Art Galleries:** Opportunity for art galleries to showcase and sell avant-garde furniture pieces that blur the lines between art and function. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Colorful Contemporary Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stellar-works.md) - [Alternate Reality-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lana-series.md) - [Dynamic Moving-Illusion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-furniture.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/formfunctional-archifurniture.md) - [Intergalactic-Themed Furnishings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-sailor.md) - [NFT Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monde-singulier-furniture.md) - [Planetary-Inspired Glassware Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mars-collection.md) - [Skyscraper-Inspired Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ben-ganz.md) - [Cutting-Edge Wearable Furnishings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuttingedge-wearable-furnishings-mcm-wearable-casa-intersects-luxury-fashio.md)
