The Couture Chess table designed by T.Raymonzrek delivers the serious message melodramatically by releasing gas as the game is played out. The 34-piece game reflects the battle over scarce natural resources like oil and gold; the [chess pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-chess-set) were crafted in the likes of such goods. The artist has also added the gas-emitting feature so a player can eliminate their opponent with a move that represents real-life attacks. For safety, the chemicals are contained in a glass box, and the players must wear gloves and gas masks. Of course, war doesn't come at a cheap price: the set costs a mere $85,000. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Social Good](https://www.trendhunter.com/socialgood) > [Activism](https://www.trendhunter.com/activism) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Luxury Chess Sets:** There is an opportunity for innovative and upscale chess sets that incorporate unique features and designs to attract affluent consumers. - **Interactive Game Experiences:** The integration of interactive elements, such as gas-emitting features, in board games presents a disruptive innovation opportunity to enhance player engagement and immersion. - **Socially Conscious Gaming:** Creating board games that raise awareness about social, environmental, or political issues, like the dangers of chemical warfare, can tap into the growing market of socially conscious consumers. ### Where This Applies - **Luxury Goods:** The luxury goods industry can explore collaborations with artists and designers to create exclusive and high-end chess sets that cater to affluent customers seeking unique and extravagant experiences. - **Board Game Manufacturers:** Board game manufacturers can innovate by incorporating interactive and immersive elements into their products, like gas-emitting features, to enhance gameplay and attract a broader audience. - **Social Impact Organizations:** Social impact organizations can leverage the popularity of board games to create educational and awareness-raising games that tackle important issues and engage players in meaningful conversations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chocolate Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compartes-chocolate-chess.md) - [Celestial Anti-Conflict Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/another-kingdom-light-stage-chess-set.md) - [Eco-Friendly Beeswax Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beeswax-chess-set.md) - [Ceramic Chess Seating Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-chess.md) - [Electromagnetic Conduction Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/masteek-lightup-chess-set.md) - [Opulent Automotive Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollsroyce-chess-set.md) - [Chess-Themed Art Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/checkmate-collection.md) - [Stealthy Automotive Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollsroyce-chess.md) - [Luxurious Luggage Chess Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rimowa-6.md)
