# Luminous Cityscape Yachts Vasily Klyukin's Luxury Boat Design Takes the Shape of Manhattan By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2014-06-17 | Luxury Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-boat-design References: [vasilyklyukin](http://www.vasilyklyukin.com/yachts/) & [luxuo](http://www.luxuo.com/yachting/luxury-yachts-by-vasily-klyukin.html) When a [luxury boat design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikonic-yachts) looks and runs like just about any other yacht out there, it hardly seems desirable anymore. However, Russian entrepreneur Vasily Klyukin has dreamed up six concept yachts that are way more artful and interesting than usual. This particular design is for Klyukin's 'Manhattan' yacht, which takes inspiration from the iconic New York City skyline. The whole boat lights up like its own little city and built right into the boat is a replica of the Empire State Building—is there anything more decadent than having your very own version of a New York landmark on a boat? As well as looking like a city, the [superyacht](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/custombuilt-superyacht) probably has room for the entire population of one. Klyukin's concept yachts will be officially presented at the [Monaco Yacht Show](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-louis) 2014 in September. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Luxury](https://www.trendhunter.com/luxury) > [Ultra Luxury](https://www.trendhunter.com/ultraluxury) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Luxury Boat Designs:** Designing luxury boats that are more artful and interesting than traditional designs. - **Cityscape Yachts:** Creating yacht designs that resemble iconic city skylines. - **Replica Landmarks:** Incorporating replicas of famous landmarks into yacht designs. ### Where This Applies - **Luxury Yacht Manufacturing:** Creating luxury yachts with unique and artistic designs. - **Tourism and Leisure:** Catering to high-end tourists and leisure travelers who seek unique and extravagant experiences. - **Architecture and Design:** Collaborating with architects and designers to bring cityscapes and landmarks to life on luxury yachts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Opulent Razor-Like Yachts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unique-71-superyacht.md) - [Solar Panel Luxe Superyachts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flame-superyacht.md) - [Luxurious Superyacht Airship Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colossea.md) - [Luxury Sea Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beyond-horizons.md) - [Quad-Deck Vehicle Brand Yachts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vnz-lamborghini-mega-yacht-88m.md) - [Furutistic Reconfigurable Superyachts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yacht-design1.md) - [Tech-Packed Yacht Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyper-concept-yacht.md) - [Hybrid Propulsion Yacht Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fluyt-yacht-concept.md) - [Water-Reflecting Superyacht Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pegasus-88m-superyacht-concept.md)
