# Crisp Cubic Residences This Luxenbourg House by n-Lab Architects is a Minimalist Family Home By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-01-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxenbourg-house References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2014/01/09/house-the-by-n-lab-architects/) & [n-lab.lu](http://www.n-lab.lu/) N-Lab Architects has designed a one-of-a-kind Luxembourg house by juxtaposing elements of heaviness and lightness. The home is made up of sturdily moored volumes, which are contrasted by [floating frames and overhangs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cloud-house). The house boasts several openings, for a spacious, uncluttered vibe. In fact, the largest, garden-side opening raises the first floor off the ground entirely. However, the architects made sure to retain the homes privacy through [wooden slats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-brick-house), which shield the house from nosy neighbors and curious passersby traffic. The interior features [pristine white surfaces and minimalist furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-minimale), completing the simplistic aesthetic. Despite its immaculate appearance, the house does not seem cold or imposing; in fact, it manages to stay warm, snug and habitable. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Contrasting Elements:** Explore the combination of heaviness and lightness in design to create unique and striking architectural structures. - **Uncluttered Spaces:** Embrace open and spacious designs to create a sense of tranquility and harmony in residential spaces. - **Privacy Enhancement:** Incorporate innovative solutions, such as wooden slats, to maintain privacy while still allowing for natural light and ventilation. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Architects and interior designers can utilize contrasting elements and uncluttered spaces to create visually stunning and functional residential spaces. - **Construction and Real Estate:** The construction and real estate industries can explore the demand for minimalist homes that prioritize privacy and functionality. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** Furniture and home decor companies can create minimalist designs that complement and enhance the aesthetics of uncluttered living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sustainable Cubic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appels-architekten.md) - [Lofty Minimalist Living Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-living-space1.md) - [Refined Modern Dwellings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silver-house.md) - [Monochromatic Minimal Cozy Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaulted-monochrome-haus.md) - [Sleek Modular German Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-anton-ii.md) - [Compact Corner Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modus-architect.md) - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Serene Heartwarming Villa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-minimale.md) - [Water-Centric Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/10m.md)
