# Easy-Riding Unicycles The Lunicycle is Designed to Make Unicycling Easy By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2014-10-23 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunicycle References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/lunicycle-unicycle/34334/) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/687658339/lunicycle-the-unicycle-for-everyone?ref=category_recommended) The Lunicycle is a unicycle that is designed for people who want to be able to ride it without putting in countless hours of practice to get good at it. The Lunicycle has a slightly oval wheel which prevents riders' pedaling momentum from dipping, instead keeping it constant. Interestingly, the Lunicycle [doesn't have a seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/martoni-cardio-speeder) or a hub. It features calf-bracing extensions that make for a more natural type of balancing that's akin to the way you stay balanced while walking. The developers of the Lunicycle are overseeing a [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheel-wedging-folding-bicycle) campaign to raise funds for production of their ingenious invention. A pledge of $130 will get you the Unicycle for $50 less than the expected retail price, if the campaign hits its fundraising target. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Effortless Unicycling:** The trend towards easy-to-ride unicycles is creating opportunities for innovative unicycle designs that appeal to beginners. - **Enhanced Balancing Technology:** The trend of incorporating advanced balancing technology in unicycles is driving the development of innovative features like calf-bracing extensions for a more natural balancing experience. - **Crowdfunding for Unicycle Innovation:** The trend of utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter to raise funds for unicycle inventions is opening up opportunities for inventors to bring their innovative designs to market. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Sports Equipment Manufacturing:** The sports equipment manufacturing industry can capitalize on the trend of effortless unicycling by developing and producing user-friendly unicycles for beginners. - **Advanced Technology:** The advanced technology industry can explore the trend of enhanced balancing technology in unicycles by developing new balancing mechanisms or incorporating similar technology in other products. - **Crowdfunding Platforms:** Crowdfunding platforms have an opportunity to tap into the trend of crowdfunding for unicycle innovation and attract inventors seeking funding for their unique unicycle designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Highway Speed Unicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inmotion-v13-challenger.md) - [Intuitive Gyroscopic Sensor Unicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inmotion-v9.md) - [Moped-Style E-Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/e-luna.md) - [Transforming Electric Unicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/titaa.md) - [Motorcycle-Training Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motorcycletraining-gadgets-rawrrs-wheelie-helper-is-the-perfect-practice-to.md) - [Lightweight Four-Wheeled Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/activcycle.md) - [Recumbent Pedal-Assist Electric Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vemoo-recumbent-tricycle.md) - [Wheel-Wedging Folding Bicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheel-wedging-folding-bicycle.md) - [Comfortable Electric Tricycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/two-front-wheel-electric.md)
