# Eclipse-Mimicking Lamps These Lunar Lamps was Created to Provide Eclipse-Inspired Patterns By Ady Floyd | Published 2015-09-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamps References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2015/09/29/see-another-eclipse/) & [eadesign.gr](http://eadesign.gr/) In honor of this week’s blood moon eclipse, designer Eugenia Antoniou created these [LED lunar lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-zero). The lamps themselves create a combination of an eclipse and a rainbow light pattern. By projecting elegant circles of colorful lights onto the floor of a dark room, they emit a galactic-themed glow. The lights are projected through a disc that has been placed in between the light source which alters the level of projection. There are exactly seven LED bulbs that make up the light source for each of the lunar lamps. The lamp then uses two optical effects, which are the [color patterns reflected off the floor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yurameki) and the white light composition on the compact disc level. The goal for this light was to mimic the way a “celestial body is interposed between another and the observer.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **LED Lunar Lamps:** LED lunar lamps that project eclipse-inspired patterns and create a galactic-themed glow. - **Colorful Light Projection:** Using optical effects, these lamps reflect elegant circles of colorful lights onto the floor of a dark room. - **Celestial-inspired Lighting:** The lamps were designed to mimic the way a celestial body is interposed between another and the observer. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate LED lunar lamps to create a unique and ethereal lighting experience. - **Event Planning:** Event planners can utilize these lamps to create mesmerizing lighting effects for special events and parties. - **Home Decor:** Home decor retailers can offer LED lunar lamps as a trendy and captivating lighting option for customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Lunar Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonsetter-floor-lamp.md) - [Textured Moon-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-phase-lamp.md) - [Moon-Inspired Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lua.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md) - [Ethereal Lunar Wall Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-piena-wall-lamp.md) - [Spaced-Themed LED Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-room.md) - [Futuristic LED Lava Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonside-lamp-one.md) - [Nature-Inspired Living Space Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonlight-floor-lamp.md) - [Solar System-Inspired Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosmooval.md)
