Sophisticated in fashion, the lamp features a [chocolate shade that begins to melt](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foscarini-1) away once the bulb is turned on. Slightly obscure but completely delicious, the Lumière au Chocolat by Alexander Lervik is yet another of the strange creations we're seeing when it comes to [lighting solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/banana-lamp). There are others out there that look like [cups pouring coffee](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mocha-melts) or that are made of unexpected materials (like chocolate), but what they offer is a playful approach to home design and art as a whole that proves nothing is beyond the reach when it comes to design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Playful Lighting Designs:** The trend of playful lighting designs offers opportunities for businesses to create unique and whimsical lighting solutions. - **Unconventional Materials in Design:** The trend of using unconventional materials in design, such as chocolate, creates disruptive innovation opportunities for industries to create novel and unexpected products. - **Artistic Home Décor:** The trend of incorporating artistic elements into home décor opens up opportunities for businesses to create visually stunning and conversation-starting products. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry can explore the use of unconventional materials and playful designs to create innovative and eye-catching lighting solutions. - **Food and Beverage:** The food and beverage industry can tap into the trend of using food as artistic inspiration to create unique and edible creations, such as chocolate lamps. - **Home Décor:** The home décor industry can embrace the trend of incorporating artistic elements into home design to offer customers visually captivating and unconventional products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ice Cream-Resembling Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-serve-lamp.md) - [Luxe Candle-Melting Lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infra-luna-20.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Colorful 3D-Printed Portable Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-soft-serve-lamp.md) - [Edible Birthday Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/let-them-eat-candles.md) - [Dark Chocolate-Inspired Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scent-of-chocolate.md) - [Gelato-Inspired Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gelato-lamp.md) - [Sculptural 3d-Printed Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/souffl-lamp.md) - [Baked Good-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant.md)
