# Sweet Cereal Sieves The Lucky Charms Sifter Separates the Good Stuff from the Bad By Meghan Young | Published 2011-10-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucky-charms-sifter References: [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/5852408/lucky-charms-sifter-gets-straight-to-the-sweet-sweet-point) & [thingiverse](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12772) Kids have probably been begging their parents to just let them eat the sweet marshmallow goodness in the [Lucky Charms cereal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-protein-cereal-x-lucky-charms) ever since it hit the market, and adults have been secretly wishing they could do just that as well -- and the Lucky Charms Sifter provides a way for that to be the case. Although it should only be used to responsible grown-ups. Created by Thingiverse user Tom Lombardi, the Lucky Charms Sifter is a [3D printed cup](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cereal-cups) that removes over 90 percent of all the cereal, leaving only the [colorful marshmallow bits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marshmallow-crunch) that really is the only reason that people purchase this particular cereal. The truly beautiful thing about the Lucky Charms Sifter is that anyone can make it if they have access to a 3D printer. Lombardi has kindly provided all the specifications. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Selective Cereal Consumption:** The trend of consumers using specialized tools or products to isolate certain components of breakfast cereals for consumption - **Personalized Eating Habits:** The trend of consumers customizing their breakfast cereal to fit their individual tastes and preferences - **3D Printed Kitchen Accessories:** The trend of creating and sharing 3D printed kitchen gadgets to enhance the culinary experience ### Where This Applies - **Food and Beverage:** Opportunities for companies to create specialized tools and accessories that cater to consumers' desire for customized or selective breakfast cereal consumption - **3D Printing:** Opportunities for 3D printing companies to cater to the growing demand for personalized kitchen gadgets and tools, such as the Lucky Charms Sifter - **DIY and Maker Community:** Opportunities for the DIY and maker community to create and share innovative, 3D printed kitchen accessories that enhance cooking and eating experiences ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rainbow Marshmallow Cereals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-gems-cereal.md) - [Color-Changing Marshmallow Cereals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucky-charms-hidden-dragon.md) - [Chromatic Marshmallow Cereal Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucky-charms-products.md) - [Fortune-Telling Cereal Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charmology.md) - [Berry Marshmallow Breakfast Cereals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucky-charms-berry-swirl.md) - [Cereal-Infused Cupcake Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucky-charms-cupcake-kit.md) - [Better-for-You S'Mores Cereals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/three-wishes-smores.md) - [Marshmallow-Infused Protein Cereals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-spoon-protein-cereal.md) - [Colorful High-Protein Marshmallow Cereals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-protein-cereal-x-lucky-charms.md)
