# Intricate Interlocked Illuminators The Synapse Lamp Series by Luceplan is Stunningly Sculptural By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-05-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luceplan References: [fromeurope.org](http://www.fromeurope.org/tips.php?cis=2510) & [luceplan](http://www.luceplan.com/Dynamic/Prodotti,intLangID,1,intCategoryID,2,intItemID,882.html) Infused with RGB LED lighting systems, the Synapse series of lamps and indoor lights by Luceplan design studio serves as a brilliantly illuminating decor element. A basic [triangular silhouette](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triris) repeats itself throughout each design, creating intricately interlocking patterns within the lamps. The [wall-mounted lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impulse-wall-light) is a cluster of three such shapes, a small design that makes a big impact on a room as it has the look of illuminated artwork. The suspension design is a larger, more architectural element that can be used as a [sculptural centerpiece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-lighting-design) or as a stunning space divider. The RGB LEDs used in the Luceplan Synapse lamps can be controlled and customized through the use of a remote control. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **RGB LED Lighting:** Opportunity for companies to develop innovative lighting solutions using RGB LED technology. - **Interlocking Patterns:** Potential for designers to create unique products by incorporating interlocking patterns in their designs. - **Remote Control Customization:** Chance for businesses to create customizable products that can be controlled remotely. ### Where This Applies - **Lighting Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the lighting industry with the integration of RGB LED technology and interlocking patterns. - **Home Decor:** Innovative lighting designs like the Synapse lamps can disrupt the home decor industry by offering customizable and visually striking options. - **Interior Design:** The Synapse lamp series presents disruptive opportunities in interior design by providing architectural and sculptural lighting solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Infinitely Expandable Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cube-one-table-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Metal Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Synchronized Portable LED Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lexon-luma-m-portable-lamp.md) - [Unconventional Modular Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-kaleido-series.md) - [Wall-Mounted Ambient Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-varmblixt-collection.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Gridded Nest-Like Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skynest.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md)
