# Minimalist Traveler Mugs The lttl tumbler's Sleek Design Keeps Liquids Cold or Hot By Joey Haar | Published 2016-10-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lttl-tumbler References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/10/25/lttl-tumbler-by-impel-studio/) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/impelstudio/the-lttl-tumbler-the-worlds-best-insulated-travel) Impel Studio's 'lttl tumbler' is a [travel mug](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allcom-smart-tumbler) designed to give a drinking experience just like a cup while still preventing leaks and [keeping liquids either cold or hot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temperature-control-smart-mug) for extended periods. The mug's [sleek design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corkcicle-cool-flask) features a flared upper third, which allows consumers to drink from it without having to tilt it all the way back. Rather than a lid that covers the entire top of the mug, common in other vessels, the lttl tumbler has a stopper that fits snugly into the mouth. This stopper screws in and has a rubber seal to prevent leaks, but the design lets consumers drink directly from the edge of the mug. The lttl tumbler comes in four finishes: brushed stainless, matte black, soft lavender and pale rose gold. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.4/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sleek Travel Mugs:** Opportunity to create travel mugs with a low-profile, minimalist design that provide a more natural drinking experience. - **Leak-proof Technology:** Opportunity to develop innovative methods to prevent leaks in travel mugs without compromising the drinking experience. - **Flared Top Mugs:** Opportunity to utilize a flared top design in mugs to allow for easier drinking without having to tilt the mug all the way back. ### Where This Applies - **Travel and Outdoor Gear:** Opportunity to create more functional and visually appealing travel mugs to meet the needs of travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. - **Kitchenware and Housewares:** Opportunity to create more innovative and functional mugs for home use with unique designs and leak-proof technology. - **Office and Workplace Supplies:** Opportunity to provide leak-proof, low-profile mugs for office and workplace settings, meeting the needs of professionals on-the-go. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Desk Thermo Tumblers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alessi-buri-tumbler.md) - [Minimalist Articulated Tumbler Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vssl-rift-tumbler.md) - [Elegant Insulated Drink Tumblers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fellow-carter-cold-tumbler.md) - [Insulated Stainless Steel Tumblers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stainless-steel-tumblers.md) - [Designer Glass Coffee Carriers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ember-cold-tumbler.md) - [Multi-Color Drinkware Lineups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yeti-3.md) - [Capacious Heated Coffee Tumblers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ember-tumbler.md) - [Travel-Ready Cocktail Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/high-camp-tumbler-set.md) - [Eco-Friendly Double Wall Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tidouble-wall-mugs.md)
