The tower reaches 18 meters in height and is comprised of a metal scaffolding framework. The exterior of the tower reveals [triangular panels of fabric](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible) that create a cohesive pattern. Titled ‘Lift,’ this dual art and light design provides Lowlands Music Festival with a constant light source and a unique visual display that entices guests. However, the main goal for Lift is to provide a central meeting space at the festival for people to gather in. The tower itself is controlled by a computer that is located in the center of the structure. The system uses four LEDs to “generate over 1,000 watts of light -- the light sources move up and down the middle of the tower to create [shifting effects on the external panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-of-light)." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Light-emitting Installations:** The trend of creating large-scale light installations for events and festivals presents opportunities for designers to explore innovative ways of incorporating technology and enhancing visual experiences. - **Interactive Art:** The trend of interactive art installations, like the 'Lift' tower, allows artists to engage with audiences and create immersive experiences, paving the way for new forms of artistic expression. - **Central Meeting Spaces:** The trend of creating central meeting spaces within festivals and events highlights the potential for innovative design solutions that provide functional gathering areas while also serving as visual attractions. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Event Planning:** The event planning industry can take advantage of the trend of light-emitting installations by incorporating them into festival and event designs, creating memorable experiences for attendees. - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore the trend of interactive art installations to push the boundaries of traditional art and create multi-sensory experiences that captivate audiences. - **Architecture and Construction:** The architecture and construction industry can explore the trend of creating central meeting spaces within their designs, offering innovative structures that provide both functionality and aesthetic appeal. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Kinetic Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totem-de-luz.md) - [Glowing Sphere Art Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/netherlands-pavilion.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Suspended Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation.md) - [Intricate Lighting Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-of-common-interest1.md) - [Vertical Formed Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tower-lighting.md) - [Interactive Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/helix.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Illuminating Water-Based Pavillions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelter-pavilion.md)
