When open, this lounger folds into a [semi-circular cushion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calma-lounge) that is comfortable for chilling with a good book or unfolding for a breezy mattress that doubles as a [cozy guest bed](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-collection-1). For those times when a little privacy is needed, the [collapsible enclosure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ma-camilla-isabel-reyes) opens up easily, encasing the occupant within its dome-like structure. The open space between the slats of wood allow for air to circulate through the pod so users will never feel closed-in or claustrophobic, even when the canopy is completely shut. Enjoy the benefits of personal space and the security of a sturdy exoskeleton encasing you as you relax within the Abri-Boca with it's shelled lounge chair design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Collapsible Enclosure:** Opportunity to create collapsible enclosure designs for various types of furniture and structures, providing users with the option of privacy and personal space. - **Versatile Furniture:** Opportunity to design furniture pieces that can transform from a comfortable lounge chair to a mattress or guest bed, offering flexibility and functionality in small spaces. - **Ventilated Pods:** Opportunity to develop pod-like structures with slats or openings that allow for air circulation, ensuring a comfortable and non-claustrophobic experience for users. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in the furniture design industry to create collapsible enclosure furniture pieces that offer versatility and comfort for users in various settings. - **Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in the hospitality industry to incorporate versatile furniture designs like the Abri-Boca lounge chair that can provide private and comfortable spaces for guests in hotel rooms or other accommodations. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in the outdoor recreation industry to develop collapsible enclosure designs for camping equipment or outdoor loungers, providing users with privacy and protection from the elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cocoon Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-introvert-chair.md) - [Relaxed Anti-Distraction Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fortune-chair.md) - [Wooden Structural Outdoor Bedes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hut-lounge-bed.md) - [Ergonomic Inflated Reclined Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/johannes-faurebrac.md) - [Wellbeing-Harnessing Fan-Like Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanti-chair.md) - [Modern Cushioned Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pod-outdoor-seating.md) - [Sleep-Inclusive Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-capsule.md) - [Personal Cubicle Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ma-camilla-isabel-reyes.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md)
