Made of [2 mm folded powder coated mild steel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-side-table) with an optional silicone inset and designed like an A4 folded paper plane, the table by the Irish designer is the perfect contemporary piece. For a shape that is typically associated with a children's object, the Lorraine Brennan Paper Plane Coffee Table is actually quite sophisticated and interesting in appearance. Due to its [geometric shape and sharp edges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tong-side-table), the creatively designed table is definitely something I could see in a modern, black-and-white-themed living room. I love anything modern with a minimalist edge, so the Lorraine Brennan Paper Plane Coffee Table may just make its way onto my holiday wish list. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Flight-inspired Furniture:** Designing furniture with inspiration from aircrafts and the aviation industry provides an opportunity to create unique, modern and sophisticated pieces. - **Geometric Shapes and Sharp Edges:** Using sharp geometric shapes and unique angles in furniture design provides an opportunity to create eye-catching and visually interesting pieces that stand out in any room. - **Minimalist Edge:** Developing sleek, minimalist designed furniture pieces provides an opportunity to appeal to modern consumers who value simplicity and stylish aesthetic in their homes. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore incorporating flight-inspired designs and minimalist elements within their furniture pieces to create unique, sophisticated and trendy products. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate furniture pieces with geometric shapes and sharp edges to create unique and visually interesting spaces. - **Home Decor:** Home decor retailers can offer a range of modern, minimalist furniture pieces that appeal to consumers who value clean lines, simple design and unique styles. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Paper-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocoon-coffee-table.md) - [Maximalist UFO Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-saucer-coffee-table.md) - [Stacked Wood Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plane-dining-table.md) - [Bent Steel Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/creu-coffee-table.md) - [Fabric-Like Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablecloth-side-table.md) - [Splintered Storage Console Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flitter-console-table.md) - [Dynamic Strong Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharp-table.md) - [Sculpted One-Piece Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pelican-coffee-table.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md)
