# Piped Parasol Racks The Loris & Livia Umbrella Stand Has an Endearing Industrial Appeal By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-02-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loris-livia-umbrella-stand References: [lorisetlivia](http://www.lorisetlivia.com/96) The practice of using found industrial materials to form furnishings and other domestic items can easily create eyesores that simply don't suit homey spaces. But there's something about the way that the Loris & Livia Umbrella Stand has been made that would allow it to fit in with a range of interior designs. Simple and clean are probably the keywords that best apply, and qualities that really enable any object to complement its environment. This particular piece is composed of just two types of components including, quite minimally, two dozen aluminum tubes and a pair of securing straps. The polished look of the monochromatic cylinders works neatly with the black belts, eliminating any thought that the heavy-duty materials of the Loris & Livia Umbrella Stand might seem too informal for a cozy home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Industrial-inspired Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop furniture and accessories using found industrial materials that have a modern and appealing design for home spaces. - **Minimalist Design Aesthetics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create simple and clean products that can seamlessly integrate with various interior designs. - **Multi-purpose Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design furniture pieces that serve multiple functions to maximize space and utility in homes. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Furnishings:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the use of unconventional materials and minimalistic designs to create unique and visually appealing furniture pieces. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate industrial elements into interior designs to create distinct and stylish living spaces. - **Home Improvement:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative and space-saving solutions for organizing and storing everyday items in homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artful Sculptural Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inbetween-umbrella.md) - [Wall Art Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/justin-case.md) - [Wall-Mounted Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/umbrella-1.md) - [Branch-Like Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aghsan.md) - [Transforming Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-1.md) - [Rainwater Multifunctional Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raindrop-1.md) - [Disappearing Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coilo.md) - [Umbrella Standpoint Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standpoint.md) - [Tripod-Like Garment Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-coat-rack.md)
