# Cute Fantasy Character Cakes The Lord of the Rings Cupcakes Feature Adorable Edible Dwarves By Gil Cohen | Published 2012-12-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lord-of-the-rings-cupcakes References: [geeksugar](http://www.geeksugar.com/Lord-Rings-Cupcakes-25694122) & [cupcaketeer](http://cupcaketeer.com/2012/10/31/lord-of-the-rings-cupcakes/) Designed by baker Maria Yebra of the blog Cupcaketeer for one of her friend’s Sci-Fi-themed birthday, the Lord of the Rings Cupcakes look adorably delicious. With the whole cast of cupcakes at your fingertips, featuring all the dwarves and hobbits that we love from the series, you could reenact almost every scene in the film. Each one gets their own cupcake, and with characters such as Frodo, Sam Aragorn and Gandalf looking super cute, it may be difficult to eat them all up. Even Gollum, who is supposed to be a repulsive, monster-like degradation of a human being, actually looks adorable in his little crouch with his angry baby face. I hope that the Lord of the Rings Cupcakes taste as good as they look. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Adorable Character Cakes:** Opportunity to create unique and cute character-themed cakes for various occasions. - **Sci-fi Themed Cakes:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to cater to the growing demand for science fiction-inspired cakes. - **Edible Fantasy Characters:** Potential for creating edible versions of popular fantasy characters that appeal to fans and enthusiasts. ### Where This Applies - **Bakery and Confectionery:** Opportunity to offer customized character-themed cakes and attract customers with unique designs. - **Event Planning and Catering:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to provide themed cakes for events, parties, and special occasions. - **Entertainment and Merchandise:** Can explore licensing partnerships to create officially licensed character cakes and expand merchandise offerings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dual-Flavor Movie-Inspired Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-celebration-cake.md) - [Fantasy-Inspired LEGO Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lord-of-the-rings-lego-set.md) - [Character-Dessert Collab Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paris-baguette-kpop-demon-hunters.md) - [Supersized Celebration Cupcakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crumbs-colossal-cupcake.md) - [Playful Space-Themed Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacethemed-dessert.md) - [Fantasy Series Building Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shire-set.md) - [Plush Toy-Inspired Cupcakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baked-by-melissa-squishmallows-cupcakes.md) - [Playful Biscuit-Inspired Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/party-rings-celebration-cake.md) - [Sci-Fi-Themed Donut Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinkbox-doughnuts-star-wars-day.md)
