# Horseshoe Hot Pot Holders Loop / Puck Trivets are Contemporary and Minimalist Culinary Implements By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-02-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-puck-trivets References: [betterlivingthroughdesign](http://www.betterlivingthroughdesign.com/accessories/loop-trivets/) & [daniel-emma](http://www.daniel-emma.com/Loop-Puck) The Loop / Puck Trivets are certainly basic in their geometric forms, yet they cannot be described as simple. A simple tabletop protector might be a boring wooden board, [a cork slab](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polka-coffee-table) or a quilted square of fabric, but these mod items embody a bit of visual interest. Daniel Emma could have easily closed the loop of the horseshoe-shaped object to create an effective stand for any [pot, saucepan or skillet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kilne-1) that's larger than the gap within the [solid aluminum hoop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/catchall-design); nevertheless, the duo decided that a completely rationalized form like a circle was not necessary to offer utility. Hot dishes can balance beautifully upon the U-shaped doodads with no risk of them touching your countertop. The Loops come in black and bright yellow and the polished metal Puck serves as a base for smaller crockery. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 25% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Contemporary Trivet Designs:** Opportunity for creating innovative trivet designs that combine functionality with visual interest. - **Minimalist Culinary Implements:** Opportunity to design minimalist culinary implements that offer both utility and aesthetic appeal. - **Geometric Form Kitchen Accessories:** Opportunity to develop kitchen accessories with unique geometric forms that stand out in the market. ### Where This Applies - **Kitchenware:** Opportunity for kitchenware manufacturers to create and market contemporary, minimalist culinary implements. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor companies to offer unique trivet designs that add a touch of modernity to tabletops. - **Product Design:** Opportunity for product designers to explore innovative geometric forms in the design of kitchen accessories. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fluid Wooden Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-furnitures.md) - [Anti-Scald Protective Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/protective-covers.md) - [Circular Oven Mitts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circular-oven-mitts.md) - [Modular Serving Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermal-serving-dish.md) - [Minimal Storage Tray Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spiral-tray.md) - [Versatile Steamer-Pot Combos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/everything-pot1.md) - [Multi-Functional Cook Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/this-cooking-appliance.md) - [Warm-Toned Marble Coasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lusine-coasters.md) - [Portable Fire Pit Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fire-pit-stand.md)
