# Torch-Like Lighting Quentin de Coster's Loop Lamp is Angle Adjustable and Abstract By Meghan Young | Published 2012-05-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-lamp References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2012/05/17/loopy-lighting/) & [quentindecoster](http://www.quentindecoster.com/) Suspended from the ceiling in an abstract and even haphazard manner, the Loop Lamp happens to look like a flashlight that has been attached to a wire to free up hands. Created by young Belgian designer Quentin de Coster, a recent graduate from Politecnico di Milano in Italy, the Loop Lamp is a practical light that allows people to direct the illumination to wherever it is needed. The Loop Lamp's cable enables the 'torch' to slide up and down to adjust its angle. Clever and contemporary, the Loop Lamp comes in all black, which will complement traditional, modern and industrial settings. From homes to offices and even warehouses, the Loop Lamp is a great addition. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Adjustable Lighting:** Loop Lamp's angle adjustability creates opportunities for designing customizable lighting solutions. - **Flexible Cables:** The Loop Lamp's cable design presents opportunities for incorporating malleable cables in various applications. - **Abstract Lighting:** Abstract lighting designs such as the Loop Lamp open up opportunities for unconventional lighting fixtures. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Loop Lamp can be used by interior designers to create customizable lighting solutions in various settings. - **Architecture:** Incorporating abstract and flexible lighting fixtures such as the Loop Lamp can offer architects innovative options in their designs. - **Industrial Design:** Industrial designers can be inspired by the functional design of the Loop Lamp to create flexible and practical lighting solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Organically Shaped Shadow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp.md) - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Versatile Torch-Style Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cono.md) - [Cutesy Coiled Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-helix-lamp.md) - [Industrial Contemporary Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shop-light.md) - [Rechargeable Portable Torch Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piton-portable-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Rope-Hanging Nomadic Portable Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quesar-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md)
