The long exposure shot is one of the longest standing shots in all of photography and also one of the most revered. The effects that can come from it looks magnificent but it takes patience to be able to pull it off perfectly. A [short film](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shooting) entitled In Motion uses this tried and true photographic method and brings it to a whole new audience.

The amazing thing about [long exposure shots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vint) is they benefit both moving and static photographs. The former benefits from the amazing blurred movement photos and the latter benefits from crisp, strong imagery. Aaron Grimes, the director of In Motion, makes use of both by painting a picture of the hustle and bustle of Tokyo through long-exposure simulating shots. Aaron was able to do this by [attaching frames one by one](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animate-old-photos) to each other in Photoshop. Patience pays off when it comes to art, and this is a big example of that.
