# Beautifully Bulging Benches The Long 8 Chair by Natanel Gluska is Adventurously Asymmetrical By Meghan Young | Published 2012-08-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/long-8-chair References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2012/08/22/from-log-to-chaise-lounge/) & [natanelgluska](http://www.natanelgluska.com/) The Long 8 Chair boasts a beautifully sculptural design. Adventurously asymmetrical, the bench bulges outward on one end while sleekly sloping down to the ground on the other. Impressively carved out of a single piece of log with a chainsaw, the Long 8 Chair somehow manages to maintain a hold on its organic roots while exhibiting a refined aesthetic. This is due in large part to the curvy, hollowed-out end of the Long 8 Chair. Created by Natanel Gluska, a multidisciplinary artist born in Israel and based in Zurich, the Long 8 Chair has been stunningly replicated in fiberglass. Available in a number of glossy colors, the chair is perfect for both nature-loving individuals fostering a rustic decor and contemporary people looking for artistic furniture pieces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Sculptural Design:** Opportunity for furniture designers to create visually striking and unique pieces. - **Organic-inspired Furniture:** Potential for interior designers to incorporate natural elements into modern environments. - **Multidisciplinary Art:** Chance for artists to explore the intersection of various artistic disciplines in their creations. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in creating unconventional and eye-catching furniture designs. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate organic-inspired furniture into contemporary interior design projects. - **Art:** Opportunity for artists to blur the boundaries between different artistic disciplines in their creations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Gravity Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench.md) - [Curvacious Oak Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-seating.md) - [Elegantly Airy Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-bench.md) - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Deco-Inspired Chunky Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mt-curve-big-chair.md) - [Sprouting Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-chair-on-grass.md) - [Curvaceous Sculptural Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strate-bench.md) - [Sustainable Structural Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-limbo-chair.md) - [Sleek Public Seating Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench.md)
