# Wood-Stacked Tables The Log Pile Coffee Table Has an Unevenly Rugged Aesthetic By Ariel Weber | Published 2013-01-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/log-pile-coffee-table References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/275261543807978873/Log-Pile-Coffee-Table) & [purcellliving](http://www.purcellliving.com/products/page66/page5/page30/index.html) The Log Pile Coffee Table by [Purcell Living](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shoemakers-museum) is modern cottage chic. The table, which was designed by Alexander Purcell Rodrigues, was created to look as the name suggests: piles of firewood, which are unevenly stacked on top of one another. The coffee table could also be interpreted as being slightly reminiscent of a fun game of Jenga. The coffee table comes equipped with drawers for easy storage and has a [thick glass tabletop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-table-designs) situated on top that enables not only a sleek design but also provides a place to put all of your books and beverages on. The design of the Log Pile Coffee Table has a more rugged aesthetic to it, which would look perfectly in a cabin or cottage but it could also work in any modern home that is looking for a more clean lined appearance. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Rustic Furniture:** The trend for furniture that blends the feel of rustic homes with modern design concepts creates openings for new unique pieces like the Log Pile Coffee Table. - **Glass Topped Furniture:** The integration of glass tops on rugged furniture opens new inroads to explore modern design concepts. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Furniture designs that address storage needs in homes open up multiple options for innovation like the drawers provided in Log Pile Coffee Table. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can leverage the trend of rustic furniture and explore designs one can integrate glass tops. - **Interior Design:** Interior design firms can offer modern cottage chic options like the Log Pile Coffee Table for working with modern home owners. - **Wood Processing:** Manufactures can focus on innovative processing techniques in creating rustic looking furniture for the changing demands. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Communal Fireplace Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hearth-coffee-table.md) - [Solid-Ash Wooden Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boia.md) - [Raw Stone-Inspired Jagged Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fels-coffee-table.md) - [Bookshelf-Incorporated Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/overlap-table.md) - [Curvaceous Animalistic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookpet-coffee-table.md) - [Luxe Low-Slung Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/attraction-coffee-table.md) - [Japandi-Style Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloth-coffee-table.md) - [Minimalist Book Storage Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-coffee-table.md) - [Triple-Tabletop Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peel-coffee-table.md)
