# Chic Firewood Fixtures The Log Light Comprises a Wooden Wedge and a Minimalist Metal Hoop By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-02-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/log-light References: [thisispaper](http://thisispaper.com/Elisa-Honkanen-Log-Light) & [elisahonkanen](http://elisahonkanen.com/log.html) Even though the Log Light looks almost nothing like your archetypal table lamp, you might have been able to discern its function at first glance. The piece does not comprise a familiar lampshade nor a standard base, but the combination of the two elements in this design become clues about its purpose. The imaginative Elisa Honkanen created a great contrast between the [precise geometry of the metal ring](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape) and the rough and uneven textures of the tree trunk cutting. Industrial and natural styles are married in an unlikely composition that emphasizes the beauty that the powder-coated aluminum material and the raw birch wood possess. The contemporary creation maintains a [crisp and minimalist look](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-light) with the Log Light even concealing an LED stripe that is its source of illumination. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Minimalist Lighting:** Opportunity for innovative lighting designs that deviate from traditional lamp structures and materials. - **Industrial-natural Fusion:** Potential for combining industrial and natural elements in product design to create unique and visually striking compositions. - **Hidden LED Technology:** Possibility for integrating LED lighting technology in unconventional ways, such as concealing it within minimalist designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to explore new possibilities in creating visually captivating and innovative lighting fixtures. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Potential for furniture manufacturers to incorporate industrial-natural fusion designs into their product offerings, catering to the demand for unique and unconventional pieces. - **LED Lighting:** Possibility for LED lighting companies to develop new and creative ways to integrate their technology in aesthetically pleasing and functional designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Raw Minimalist Pine Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoop-table-lamp.md) - [Pine Wood-Inspired Minimal Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jakobsson.md) - [Wooden Sustainable Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo.md) - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Twisting Timber Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-lasercut-wooden-lampshade.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Bonfire-Inspired Indoor Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iri-lamp.md) - [Design-Focused Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-soul.md)
