# Monochromatic Loft Extensions A Loft Extension in East London Boasts Pale Pink Everything By Francesca Mercurio | Published 2021-09-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loft-extension References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2021/09/06/loft-extension-emil-eve-architects-colour-blocking/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+dezeen+%28Dezeenfeed%29) A monochromatic loft extension designed by [Emil Eve Architects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drama-republic) in east London boasts a pink and tranquil bedroom extension. The clients wanted this bedroom to feel like a sanctuary and escape from the chaos of work and family life found throughout the rest of the house. The loft is located in a conservation area which required the designers to build the extension with minimal visual impact from the outdoors. The architects replaced the original butterfly roof with a mansard roof that sits unobtrusively on the house's exterior. The room features built-in wardrobes and a window seat which optimizes the living space. The room's entirety is painted with [Little Greene's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-giant-forest-studio) 'China Clay [Mid](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hm-home-and-pantone)' pale pink paint color - producing a serene and prominently pink space.
