# Location-Based Reminder Apps Notifyou's iBeacons Send Alerts to Users' Phones When They Walk By By Cadhla Gray | Published 2015-09-18 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/locationbased-reminder References: [notifyouapp](http://www.notifyouapp.com/) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/671577698/notifyou-ibeacon-creating-the-next-generation-remi) This [location-based reminder app](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mapnotes) will help users never forget their car keys, wallet or charger again. Instead of [dated sticky notes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/friendlystack-reminder) that either fall from where they're put or simply aren't attention-grabbing, this notification system will effectively remind you of all the important necessities. The product is a two-part system; the first includes the small hardware pieces called 'iBeacons.' These small squares surround a chip that sends data to a cell phone when it senses the connected smartphone is close by. The second part to the system is the online app 'Notifyou' that receives the location-based reminder from the iBeacon chip and signals your attention with a pop-up message. Each chip can be programmed with a specific reminder to be sent, such as "don't forget your house keys," making morning routines easier and more organized. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Location-based Reminder Apps:** Location-based reminder apps are providing users with timely alerts to help them remember important items and tasks. - **Ibeacon Technology:** iBeacon technology is enabling seamless communication between small hardware chips and smartphones, allowing for precise location-based reminders. - **Smart Home Organization:** Smart home organization systems are revolutionizing morning routines by providing personalized reminders for essential items. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Mobile App Development:** The mobile app development industry can capitalize on the growing demand for location-based reminder apps by creating innovative and user-friendly solutions. - **Internet of Things (iot):** The IoT industry has a disruptive innovation opportunity with the advancement of iBeacon technology, which enables seamless connectivity and communication between smart devices. - **Home Automation:** Home automation industry can leverage smart home organization systems to create efficient and personalized solutions for managing daily tasks and reminders. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Visual Reminder Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-reminders-20.md) - [Organizational Reminder Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-todo-reminder-app.md) - [Notification Organizer Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinnit.md) - [NFC-Enabled Anti-Distraction Keychains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unpluq-tag.md) - [Phone Locator Alerts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fingerfind.md) - [Future Message Reminders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hifutureself.md) - [Creative Medication Reminders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medication-reminders.md) - [Meeting Reminder Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/notifi-alerts.md) - [Relationship Communication Assistants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touchbase1.md)
