# Stained Glass Home Skylights Loc House Features a Louvered Skylight With Tinted Panes By Joey Haar | Published 2017-06-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loc-house References: [archdaily](http://www.archdaily.com/873622/loc-house-23o5-studio) Loc House, a family home in a residential neighborhood in Vietnam, features a bit of Gothic inspiration that belies its otherwise modern layout. The home's most striking feature is the skylight that illuminates the central courtyard, at it's made out of louvered panes of stained glass, almost like the elegant, ornate windows that adorn Renaissance cathedrals. To be sure, the skylight in Loc House is about as similar to the classical conception of a Gothic stained glass window as [Matisse's rendition](https://theculturetrip.com/europe/france/articles/matisse-s-masterpiece-vence-s-chapelle-du-rosaire/). The glass has no discernible image that it depicts, opting instead for a graceful and subtle array of shifting panes. Further, those panes are louvered rather than attached to one another, which gives the added benefit of increased airflow to keep the home cooler during the Vietnamese warm season. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Stained-glass Home Design:** Opportunities for stained-glass windows and skylights in modern home design. - **Gothic-inspired Architecture:** Incorporating Gothic design elements in modern architecture and home design. - **Louvered Skylights:** The growing popularity of louvered skylights and their benefits in home ventilation. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture and Design:** Innovative ideas for incorporating stained-glass and Gothic elements in modern home design. - **Home Improvement and Construction:** Opportunities for incorporating louvered skylights in construction projects for improved ventilation and aesthetics. - **Glass Manufacturing:** Increasing demand for stained-glass and louvered glass panels in modern architecture and home design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wall-to-Wall Skylight Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/datum-house.md) - [Solar-Powered Mexico Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-girasol.md) - [London Home Skylit Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oliver-leech-architects.md) - [Openable Wooden Shutter Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-house-1.md) - [Modern Vietnamese Dwellings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tien-giang-house.md) - [Geometric Cave-Like Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cavelike-homes.md) - [Natural Light-Centric Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huron-house.md) - [Halo-Like Skylight Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halo-house.md) - [Wooden Louvres Family Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-slab.md)
