# Seemingly Swaying Illuminators The Swing Light Bulb Design by YOY Incorporates Optical Illusion By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-05-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/llight-bulb-design References: [spoon-tamago](http://www.spoon-tamago.com/2013/05/17/pendant-light-appears-to-swing-back-and-forth) & [yoy-idea.jp](http://yoy-idea.jp/works/swing/) YOY design studio has created an interesting light bulb design that induces graceful movement without any motion at all. An [optical illusion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-lighting-designs) is created by the shape of the bulb, which features an exaggerated tail through which the light continues to shine. This design is balanced in the center of the line rather than on the bulb so the lamps seem to be constantly displayed at an angle with a streak of light trailing behind them as though someone has decided to make it swing. The light source stems from [LED filaments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ilo-lamp) that shine a bright and clear white for a radiant effect. Appropriately entitled Swing, this [unusual light bulb design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-lighting-design) by YOY studio is a fun way to add eclectic style and a dash of surprising movement into a room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Optical Illusion Lighting:** Incorporating optical illusions into lighting design to create dynamic and eye-catching effects. - **LED Filament Lighting:** Using LED filaments in lighting design to produce bright and clear white light. - **Fun and Eclectic Lighting:** Creating lighting designs that add a sense of whimsy and surprise to a room. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Designing lighting fixtures for residential and commercial spaces that incorporate optical illusions, LED filaments, and playful elements. - **Event Planning:** Using unique lighting designs with optical illusions and filament LEDs to create memorable atmospheres for events and gatherings. - **Art Installation:** Incorporating optical illusions and filament LEDs into large-scale art installations to create mesmerizing and interactive experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dazzling Gradient Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-bulb.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Kinetic Insect Sculpture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dragonfly-balance-light.md) - [Poetic Rippling Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yurameki.md) - [Delicate Illusory Ceiling Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aria-light.md) - [Hat-Like Fabric Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-lamp.md) - [Floating Illusion Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lp-lamp.md) - [Emotional Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection.md) - [Relaxing Optical Illusion Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/novatropes.md)
