# Lumber Living Livio DeMarchi Constructs an Entire Life Out of Wood By Andrew Robichaud | Published 2009-06-30 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/livio-demarchi-wood References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/uncanny-craftsman-carves-incredible-wood-art-design/) & [craftsmanshipmuseum](http://www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com/demarchi.htm) Livio DeMarchi’s collection of [wood sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illusion-box) is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. We’ve featured different [carved items](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures) and other [wood innovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-collection-1) on TrendHunter.com before, but not to this magnitude. The sculptures vary from house old décor to floating automobiles. It’s absolutely phenomenal to see a wooden car and carriage that can actually float in the water (I know wood can float, I’m just saying I’ve never seen a wooden car float). Livio DeMarchi also does fine work with glass as well. I highly advise checking out his website. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Wooden Sculptures:** Opportunity for artists to explore the limitless possibilities of wood as an artistic medium. - **Sustainable Art:** A growing demand for eco-friendly art pieces created from recycled materials. - **Custom Home Decor:** Increased demand for one-of-a-kind, handcrafted pieces for home decor. ### Who This Affects Most - **Fine Arts:** DeMarchi's works blur the line between art and functional objects, emphasizing the need for more creative approaches to traditional artmaking techniques. - **Furniture Design:** With the unique and inventive works of DeMarchi, designers can incorporate wooden sculptures in furniture and decor pieces for a more rustic and natural aesthetic. - **Tourism:** The one-of-a-kind wooden sculptures created by DeMarchi can attract tourists to unique destinations and can be a part of cultural heritage promotion. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Repurposed Wooden Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/darren-appiagyei.md) - [Time-Layered Wood Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/age-of-wood.md) - [Dynamic Timber Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/down-to-earth.md) - [Geometric Wooden Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aleph-geddis.md) - [Sculptural Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightness-of-form.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Felled Tree Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ptacek-home-chunk-line.md) - [Wooden Identity Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hughmanity.md)
