Comprised of just three pieces, the collection can be reconfigured in a endless number of ways to adapt to need, space and other miscellaneous factors. Conceived and designed by Berlin-born, Leipzig-based Yi-Cong Lu, the Living Tools collection has been especially made for small spaces. It boasts a [collapsible lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cube-one-table-lamp) that can be hung on the wall like a broom, a [wall-mounted desk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet) that can be twisted and hung as a wardrobe, stand as a room divider, used as a whiteboard or even as a bookshelf; and a set of pivoting curtain rails that change the way a room is split up. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modular Furniture:** The Living Tools collection demonstrates a trend towards modular furniture that can be reconfigured in various ways to adapt to different needs and spaces. - **Multifunctional Design:** Yi-Cong Lu's Living Tools collection is an example of multifunctional furniture that serves multiple purposes, such as a collapsible lamp that can be hung on the wall or a desk that can be twisted and used as a wardrobe. - **Space-saving Solutions:** The Living Tools collection offers space-saving solutions for small spaces, with furniture pieces that can be folded, hung, or pivoted to maximize the use of limited space. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** The modular and multifunctional design trend seen in the Living Tools collection presents opportunities for innovative interior design solutions. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The concept of flexible and adaptable furniture showcased by Living Tools opens up opportunities for furniture manufacturers to create customizable and space-saving designs. - **Home Organization:** The Living Tools collection provides disruptive innovation opportunities in the realm of home organization, with furniture pieces that can serve multiple purposes and optimize the use of limited space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Modular Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loopo-system.md) - [Versatile Modular Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transformer-couch-20.md) - [Adaptive Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture.md) - [Expanding Three-in-One Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expandy.md) - [Modular Flatpack Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opoo-multifunctional-furniture.md) - [Resourceful Multifunctional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chameleon-furniture.md) - [Angular Transforming Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optimus-furniture.md) - [Compact Tool-Free Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/songmics-home-toolless-collection.md) - [Multifunctional Sleek Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flex-furniture.md)
