The offerings for 2018 include contemporary and refined designs of coffee tables, lounge chairs, vases, stools and rugs. The company focuses on a washed-out pastel color scheme that is not invasive but makes a powerful statement. While Gus* Modern draws inspiration from mid-century design movements, the entire capsule can be perceived as an experimentation in form, color and texture. From the [tufted-leather upholstery of the seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grazia-co) to the geometry-influenced minimalist end tables, each piece in the living room furniture line is made to be inter-referential or stand-alone. In addition to its 2018 offerings of home furnishings, Gus* Modern boasts a selection of [office-appropriate sofas and tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nycxdesign). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Sculptural Aesthetics:** An opportunity for disruptive innovation lies in creating home furniture with highly sculptural and elegant designs. - **Washed-out Pastel Color Scheme:** Disruptive innovation can be found by creating furniture with a unique pastel color scheme that makes a powerful statement. - **Experimentation in Form, Color, and Texture:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in exploring new forms, colors, and textures in home furniture design. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** In the furniture design industry, there is an opportunity for disruptive innovation by embracing sculptural aesthetics and exploring new forms, colors, and textures. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can benefit from disruptive innovation by offering furniture with a unique pastel color scheme and highly sculptural designs. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation can be achieved in the interior design industry by incorporating furniture with a washed-out pastel color scheme and experimenting with form, color, and texture. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chic 70s-Inspired Home Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gubi.md) - [Chic Comfortable Furnishings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comfortable-furnishings.md) - [Ultra-Cozy Contemporary Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-furniture-collection1.md) - [Contemporary Classic Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lemieux-et-cie.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Thoughtful Contemporary Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-pipe.md) - [Luxe Grooved Versatile Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cesar.md) - [Elevated Masterful Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/og-studio-1.md) - [Modern Curvy Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curvy-furniture-design.md)
