# Levitational Coffee Tables The 'Teles Taxídi' Living Room Coffee Table Features a Floating Design By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-12-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/living-room-coffee-table References: [gearhungry](http://www.gearhungry.com/teles-taxidi-levitating-coffee-table/) & [sds.design](https://www.sds.design/home.html) The 'Teles Taxídi' is a living room coffee table that features a truly exceptional design unlike anything seen in the market prior. Created by Siren Design Studios, the 'Teles Taxídi' coffee table features a [levitating design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitating-cybertruck) that allows the [large glass surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soda-iced-table) to float above the base section by a couple of inches. This is made possible thanks to rare Earth magnets that are implemented into the design that helps to take care of the heavy lifting to keep the weighted top glass portion floating above. The 'Teles Taxídi' living room coffee table features a two-tier system that is kept in place thanks to ultra-strong Kevlar cables. This prevents the top portion from being launched upward when sitting in the middle of a room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Levitating Furniture:** The levitational design of the 'Teles Taxídi' coffee table showcases the potential for levitating furniture in the market. - **Magnetically Suspended Objects:** The implementation of rare Earth magnets in the 'Teles Taxídi' coffee table suggests opportunities for creating magnetically suspended objects in various industries. - **Floating Home Decor:** The floating glass surface of the 'Teles Taxídi' coffee table introduces a trend of floating home decor, creating opportunities for innovative and visually stunning designs. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore the use of levitating designs to create unique and eye-catching pieces that enhance the aesthetics and functionality of living spaces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate magnetically suspended objects like the 'Teles Taxídi' coffee table to create captivating and dynamic spaces that push the boundaries of traditional decor. - **Home Accessories:** The market for home accessories can expand with the introduction of floating decor, offering consumers a wide variety of innovative and stylish options for decorating their homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Harmonious Helical Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vortex-coffee-table.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Luxe Low-Slung Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/attraction-coffee-table.md) - [Crystalline Gem-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soda-coffee-tables.md) - [Striking Limited-Edition Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/limitededition-coffee-table.md) - [Artful Coffee Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertushka.md) - [Sculpture-Like Geometric Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skim-coffee-table.md) - [Statuesque Marble Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mawe-low-coffee-table.md) - [Maximalist UFO Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-saucer-coffee-table.md)
