# Pocket-Sized Greenhouses The Livesglass is a Decorative Air Purifier By Joey Haar | Published 2017-08-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/livesglass References: [theverge](https://www.theverge.com/tldr/2017/8/7/16106118/livesglass-che-design-pocket-sized-greenhouse-air-purifierhttps://www.theverge.com/tldr/2017/8/7/16106118/livesglass-che-design-pocket-sized-greenhouse-air-purifier) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/704319661/the-new-livesglass-your-pocket-size-green-house/description) It's easy to let one's [desk languish](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bisley) without adding any charm or personal character, so the Livesglass is a tool to help people beautify their space without any extra effort. The decorative knick knack is akin to a [miniature greenhouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1), holding a single succulent or moss plant while doubling as an [attractive air purifier](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-purifier-concept). Livesgalss employs a unique shape that waters the plants it holds automatically. The glass casing is shaped like an hourglass, with the water slowly filtering down from the upper compartment when released from a pressure-sensitive valve. This system ensures that the plant inside never takes too much or too little fluid from the pool of water at the top of the casing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Decorative Air Purifiers:** Disruption opportunity: Develop innovative designs and technologies for decorative air purifiers that not only clean the air but also enhance the aesthetics of a space. - **Miniature Greenhouses:** Disruption opportunity: Create compact and automated greenhouse solutions that allow people to grow and care for plants in small spaces, such as offices or apartments. - **Automatic Plant Watering Systems:** Disruption opportunity: Design smart and self-regulating watering systems for plants that provide optimal hydration levels without requiring manual intervention. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Disruption opportunity: Combine air purifying technology with aesthetically pleasing designs to create unique home decor products that improve indoor air quality. - **Gardening and Plant Care:** Disruption opportunity: Develop innovative solutions for urban gardening and plant care, enabling people with limited space to grow and maintain plants effortlessly. - **Household Appliance:** Disruption opportunity: Integrate automation and smart features into household appliances like plant watering systems, making them more efficient and user-friendly. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Moss Terrarium Air Humidifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosslab.md) - [Living Moss Humidifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moss-humidifier-concept.md) - [Moss-Powered Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moss-air.md) - [Natural Moss Terrariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petite-foret-plus.md) - [Plant-Cultivating Home Furnishings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-4.md) - [Self-Watering Desk Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha.md) - [Plant-Supporting Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/florapur-air-purifier-concept.md) - [Plant-Powered Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/decorative-air-purifier.md) - [Self-Watering Plant Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vivo-pot.md)
