# Live Avatar Role-Playing Get Your Na'vi on With the People from Hometree Wisconsin By Michael Hines | Published 2010-02-14 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/live-avatar-role-playing References: [youtube](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk2vR8w2sjc) & [avatarroleplay](http://www.avatarroleplay.com/) When I grow up I want to do some live ‘Avatar’ role-playing. LARPing is usually associated with people dressing up as knights and wizards, not as Na’vi, which is why this is such a funny thing to see. Have you ever seen someone LARP? They get ridiculously into it. Have you ever seen somebody engaging in live Avatar role playing? It’s hilarious! The video seems like a spoof; if it isn’t, then these people have some explaining to do. What will Avatar do next? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Live Avatar Role-playing:** Opportunity for immersive gaming experiences that allow participants to roleplay as characters from popular films like Avatar. - **Larping:** Growing trend of live-action role-playing, expanding beyond traditional fantasy themes to include sci-fi and film-inspired settings. - **Immersive Gaming:** Increasing demand for interactive and realistic gaming experiences, with potential for incorporating virtual reality technology. ### Where This Applies - **Gaming:** Disruptive innovation opportunities for game developers and software companies to create immersive and film-based gaming experiences. - **Cosplay:** Potential for costume designers and cosplay businesses to offer customized Na'vi costumes for fans of live Avatar role-playing. - **Entertainment:** Opportunity for theme parks and entertainment companies to create immersive live-action role-playing experiences based on popular film franchises. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Animated Series-Themed RPGs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avatar-generations.md) - [Outer-Worldly Alien Film Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-way-of-water.md) - [Avatar-Staffed Convenience Stores](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lawson.md) - [Avatar-Centric Gaming Activities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meta-quest-1.md) - [Hyper-Realistic Virtual Avatars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omniverse-avatar-cloud-engine.md) - [Live Board Game Productions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-twentysided-tavern.md) - [Fantasy Roleplay AI Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dd-character-portraits.md) - [Sci-Fi Movie Figurine Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-2.md) - [Sci-Fi Movie Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avatarthemed-eggs.md)
