He paints his captivating abstract patterns onto sheets of tempered glass. Stacking these glass canvasses together creates a single piece that is full of dimension and movement, with a design that shifts slightly every time a viewer changes their perspective. [Flat-panel LEDs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-bulb) are installed behind the final pieces, casting the colors into silhouettes, enhancing the artwork with another visual stimulator. The lights are connected to a dimmer system so each viewer can create a customized experience for each painting, choosing how bright or dim the light is. In his lit-up painting series, Peter Bynum sets the stage for light and color to interact with the audience. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Lit-up Painting Series:** Opportunity to incorporate LED technology into traditional paintings to enhance the viewing experience. - **Tempered Glass Canvasses:** Opportunity for artists to explore new materials for creating innovative art pieces. - **Customized Lighting Experience:** Opportunity to enhance the viewer's interaction with artwork through customized lighting options. ### Where This Applies - **Art:** Opportunity for artists to incorporate technology into their traditional art pieces to create a unique experience for viewers. - **Lighting:** Opportunity for lighting companies to collaborate with artists and offer customized lighting options for art galleries and museums. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate lit-up paintings into their designs to create a unique and immersive atmosphere. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Life-Like 3D Canvases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumino.md) - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Immersive Light Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch.md) - [Petal-Inspired Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-wall-light.md) - [Emotional Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Immersive Light Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Stunningly Intricate Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light.md)
