# Sassy Wardrobe Companions The Little Black Dresser is Fully Functional Art Furniture By Katie Cordrey | Published 2010-01-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-black-dresser References: [ifitshipitshere.blogspot](http://ifitshipitshere.blogspot.com/2010/01/judson-beaumonts-latest-whimsical.html) & [straightlinedesigns](http://www.straightlinedesigns.com/) The Little Black Dresser is a fully functional piece of chic art furniture shaped like a dress. It hangs in your closet. Judson Beaumont is the Vancouver, British Columbia artist who designed the Little Black Dresser. This is some of Beaumont’s newest work. Trend Hunter spotted his misbehaving home furnishings and his fantasy kids rooms on previous hunts (see related). The furniture maker has added several new pieces to his collection. Some, like the Little Black Dresser, are decidedly more well behaved than previous work, but as you can see from the gallery photos, Beaumont’s work still has plenty of sass. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Functional Art Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the concept of functional art in furniture design to create unique and eye-catching pieces that serve a practical purpose. - **Chic Closet Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative and stylish accessories specifically designed for closets, such as hanging dressers, to optimize space and elevate the aesthetics of wardrobe organization. - **Sassy Home Furnishings:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create misbehaving home furnishings that blur the boundaries between art and furniture, offering customers unconventional design choices for their living spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate artistic elements into furniture manufacturing processes to produce visually appealing and functional products that stand out in the market. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with artists and furniture designers to incorporate unique and unconventional pieces into interior design projects, creating impactful and personalized spaces. - **Closet Organization:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative storage solutions and accessories specifically tailored for closet organization, allowing individuals to maximize space and enhance their overall wardrobe experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sleek Open-Space Furniture Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-box.md) - [Whimsical Childlike Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-eternal-child.md) - [Connected Curated Wardrobe Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lookandme-closet.md) - [Miniature Sanitized Cabinet Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yujin-lee.md) - [Travel Trunk-Inspired Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-vuitton-cabinet-of-curiosities-by-marc-newson.md) - [Unique Burl-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/don-heston-studio.md) - [Artful Wooden Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knowledge-of-all-dark-things.md) - [Stylish Oakwood Storage Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moose-cabinet.md) - [Playful Toy-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frunchroom-furniture-collection.md)
