The Litelok is an ultra light and [flexible bicycle lock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lock-ultra) that fuses the flexibility and [light weight of a cable lock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/t1-st-plus) with the robustness and strength of heavy U-locks. Invented by former aeronautical engineer Professor Neil Barron, the Litelok is flexible and light but can withstand over five minutes of attack from tools like hack saws, bolt cutters and jacks.

The Litelok's secret is its strap, which is made from a material called Boaflexicore, which comprises several layers of various lightweight materials. The [locking mechanism](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yale-linus-smart-lock-2-lite) is based on a steel component.

The Litelok provides a great solution to the existing problem, wherein people who want the security of a U-lock have to accept the discomfort of lugging several extra pounds around.
