He was invited by the 'Do Art Foundation' to create murals to adorn LA's downtown area. With the use of black ink and a few brushes, 2501 was able to create extremely detailed images in his signature linear style. From afar, these intricate pieces each look like large-scale illustrations, but a closer look will show that many of the murals were created with a repetitive linear methodology. His linear murals have been celebrated throughout the world and his work has been known to give viewers a sense of depth and action. The use of various images can sometimes be confusing, but 2501 describes his first piece as a representation of the metamorphosis of the world, depicting the evolution from microorganisms to humans. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Linear Mural Art:** Artists and designers are exploring linear mural art as a unique way to transform public spaces. - **Illusion Art:** Visual artists are blurring the lines of reality through the creation of murals that create the illusion of depth and action. - **Street Art:** Street art is gaining more recognition as a legitimate form of urban art and is being commissioned by organizations to beautify public spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can leverage the rise of linear mural art and commission artists to beautify public spaces. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** The tourism and hospitality industry can incorporate linear murals as part of their attraction to enhance a visitors' experience in a city. - **Real Estate Development:** Real estate developers can incorporate street art into their developments to add a unique touch and attract young urbanites seeking one-of-a-kind living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Collaborative Monochromatic Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collaborative-monochromatic-art-exhibition.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Evolved Vibrant Graffiti Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jan-kalb.md) - [Mural Design Assistants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-by-squares.md) - [Community-Inspired Colorful Substations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brent-cross-town.md) - [Laser-Cut Urban Artistry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-cut-city-maps.md) - [Space-Exploration Artful Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kosmos-exhibition.md)
