# Light Fixture Furnishings The Linear LED Chair Affords the Avid Reader All Necessary Equipment By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-09-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-led-chair References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/Linear-LED-Chair/2447199) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Linear-LED-Chair/2447199) I have come across a few modern furnishing designs that combine [floor lamps with armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ori-lamp), but none that have taken the approach of the Linear LED Chair in integrating illumination into the structure of the seat. This unique piece by Liely Faulkner is constructed of [rigid aluminum bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape) that have been embedded with [light-emitting diode technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ilo-lamp). As such, the object appears to have been manufactured of irradiating slats. Four Darkon Grazer LED profiles have been joined to form a section of the backrest, the seat, the riser and the base support for a cantilevered style. The structure is stiff enough to bear the weight of a sitter. Simply plug the Linear LED Chair into a wall socket and appreciate the bright yellow glow of the futuristic piece. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Integrated Illumination:** The trend of integrating illumination into furniture offers opportunities for creating unique and visually striking designs. - **Light-emitting Diode Technology:** The use of light-emitting diode technology in furniture opens up possibilities for energy-efficient and customizable lighting solutions. - **Futuristic Furnishings:** Designs that incorporate futuristic elements, such as bright yellow glow, can appeal to consumers looking for avant-garde aesthetics. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can explore innovative ways of integrating lighting technology into their designs to create unique selling points and cater to evolving consumer preferences. - **Lighting and LED Industry:** The lighting and LED industry can capitalize on the growing demand for furniture with integrated illumination by developing specialized LED lighting solutions and collaborating with furniture manufacturers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate futuristic furnishings with integrated lighting technology to create visually striking and technologically advanced living spaces for their clients. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Mood Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-chair.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Sleek Dynamic Steel Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foln.md) - [Supportive Lightning Bolt Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightning-chair.md) - [Storage-Attached Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-chair.md) - [Recycled Leather Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corium-standing-floor-lamp.md) - [Leather-Accented Industrial Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/l1-chair-from-object-leuci.md) - [Flexible Workstation Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archflex-desk-lamp.md) - [Sleek Contemporary Metal-Encased Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-lamp.md)
