# Spinning Star Shoots Lincoln Harrison Captures Spectacularly Color Scenery By Meghan Young | Published 2011-11-11 | Fashion Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lincoln-harrison References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/spectacular-australian-star-trails) & [lincolnharrison](http://lincolnharrison.com/) Long exposure nighttime shoots are not new, the [stunning effect of streaking stars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stratosplash) in the sky is too irresistible not to shoot, but Lincoln Harrison's captures of [spinning stars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-identification-camera) are definitely unique. Creating a [surreal paint-like effect](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1) in the skies, the artist almost seems to have taken Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night painting and magically made it real. Based in Australia, Lincoln Harrison took his night shots over a period of 15 hours. Those 15 hours were not made easier since it was spent during one of Australia's cold winter nights near Bendigo over Lake Eppalock. Yet, these vibrant scenic shots were totally worth it. Visualizing the Earth's rotation has never been more beautiful, that's for sure. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/stylephotography) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Long Exposure Nighttime Shoots:** There is an opportunity to develop specialized camera equipment for capturing high-quality nighttime shots. - **Paint-like Night Sky Effects:** There is a potential for new art forms and installations to emerge that utilize this technique. - **Visualizing Earth's Rotation:** There is a potential for educational tools and exhibitions to be created to aid in the visualization of astrophysical phenomena. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** There is an opportunity to develop specialized camera equipment for capturing high-quality nighttime shots. - **Art:** There is a potential for new art forms and installations to emerge that utilize this technique. - **Education:** There is a potential for educational tools and exhibitions to be created to aid in the visualization of astrophysical phenomena. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Festive Light Painting Techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-painting-1.md) - [Immersive Light Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Unique Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-aurora.md) - [Dazzling Gradient Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-bulb.md) - [Smart Astrophotography Telescopes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seestar-s30.md) - [Emotional Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection.md) - [Immersive Skating Events](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gogh-skate.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md)
