# Hedged House Photography Lignes Verte by Alexandra Davy Shows Nature Protecting Man By Meghan Young | Published 2014-05-14 | Fashion Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lignes-verte-by-alexandra-davy References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/2014/05/13/houses-and-gardens-photography/) & [alexandradavy](http://alexandradavy.com/Lignes_Vertes.html) Lignes Verte by Alexandra Davy, a photographer based in France, is a photo series capturing hedges that tend to surround houses both for decorative and protective purposes. Yet she manages to capture them in as artistic a way as possible. The houses appear to be peeking over the hedges while the images overall adhere to an [abstract and minimal style](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/henderson-art-garden). Through Lignes Verte by Alexandra Davy, the photographer addresses the contradictory existence of such hedges. She writes, "Plants are a part of nature, but walls are a part of culture. They provide us with an artificial protection from the eyes of the world. Inside, they conceal what we're hiding; outside, what we'd like to see." This protection is more appealing than [white picket fences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-by-the-grove). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/stylephotography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Nature-inspired Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Expanding the market for nature-inspired art by incorporating elements of protection and privacy. - **Abstract Minimalism:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Leveraging the popularity of abstract and minimalist styles in photography to create unique compositions. - **Symbolism in Home Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introducing symbolic elements like hedges into home design to convey a sense of protection and privacy. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing new techniques and approaches in photography to capture the beauty and symbolism of nature-inspired protective barriers. - **Home Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrating natural elements like hedges into architectural designs to promote privacy and blend indoor living with outdoor environments. - **Art Market:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating a niche market in the art industry for nature-inspired, abstract photographs that explore the concept of protection and privacy. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Green Garden-Surrounding Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hillside-house-1.md) - [Plant-Filled Latticed Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touching-eden-house.md) - [Gabled Forest-Side Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frame-house-1.md) - [Terraced Light Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-under-the-poplars.md) - [Greenhouse-Topped Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-house-1.md) - [Forest Edge House Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-guapuruvu.md) - [Window-Accented Garden Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/verdant-house.md) - [Woodland Arts Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waterhouseoyama.md) - [Blocky Stone Perimeter Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forte-house.md)
