The chair is characterized by its stylized design that has a lightning bolt shape and boasts cutouts on the backrest as well as the base. Constructed with [stainless steel wire](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair), the chair appears quite delicate but is supported by a transparent polycarbonate frame to ensure durability. The 'Lightning Chair' concept is imagined in black and white color options, and maintains a somewhat ghostly aesthetic. The chair is accented by a [triangular side table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foln) that mimics its form in reverse to provide a small spot for placing a cup of coffee, a reading light or any other decor essentials. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Furniture:** The 'Lightning Chair' showcases a trend towards minimalist furniture design. - **Structural Designs:** The lightning bolt shape of the 'Lightning Chair' highlights a trend towards structural designs. - **Translucent Materials:** The chair's transparent polycarbonate frame alludes to a trend towards the use of translucent materials in furniture design. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** The 'Lightning Chair' is a disruptive innovation opportunity for the furniture design industry to experiment with new styles. - **Interior Design:** The chair's unique aesthetic could disrupt the interior design industry's reliance on traditional furniture pieces. - **Home Decor:** The 'Lightning Chair' and its accompanying table offer a new home decor option that stands out from traditional furniture pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Leather-Accented Industrial Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/l1-chair-from-object-leuci.md) - [Lightning Bolt-Inspired Interior Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/relmpago-house.md) - [Quirky Cartoon-Like Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flash-furniture-series.md) - [Industrial Light-Equipped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-light-chair.md) - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Modular Mood Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-chair.md) - [Metallic Tubular Minimal Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tone-chair.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Flatpack Ultra-Modular Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-chair.md)
