In Thailand, it is not uncommon for building owners to add [additional layers over existing surfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bomun-house) to create patterned exteriors. These ‘ad-hoc facades’ are the inspiration behind the Lightmos Thonglor building by Bangkok-based architecture practice Architectkidd.

The designers at Architectkidd turned the Lightmos Thonglor structure from an old shop house into a [lighting showroom](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barnacle-wall-sconce). Pursuing the idea of an ‘accidental’ facade, they initiated different design experiments, which resulted in the circular holes seen here on the exterior of the Lightmos Thonglor.
